Vertex 460 240GB

The OCZ Vertex 460 replaces the Vertex 450. The main difference between the two is a change from Intel/Micron (IMFT) 20nm MLC NAND to Toshiba 19nm MLC NAND, a fitting move considering that Toshiba acquired OCZ shortly before the Vertex 460's release. Comparing the Vertex 460 and 450 shows that the two drives are broadly on a par in terms of performance. In terms of pricing the Vertex 460 is priced reasonably considering its age, I expect prices will drop rapidly as retailers build stocks of the relatively new drive. At current prices the 240GB Vertex 460 represents above average value for money but struggles to compete with its slightly more expensive sibling, the Vector 150. Comparing the 460 and 150 shows that Vector 150 leads in terms of effective speed by 10% but only costs 5% more than the 460. ^{[Mar '14 SSDrivePro]}
