Average Bench: 95.9% (276th of 1072)

Based on 217,115 user benchmarks.  Models: Samsung SSD 840 EVO 250GB, Samsung SSD 840 EVO, Samsung SSD 840 EVO 250G

The Evo is remarkable in that, like the Sandisk Extreme II, it features a second level cache. For the 250 GB Evo this consists of a 3 GB Turbowrite cache (TWC) which is a block of high speed Flash Memory. When the TWC is exhausted write speeds drop by approximately 50% but that won't often happen under typical consumer workloads. In terms of raw performance, even with its cache, the Evo still isn't the fastest drive. With a real world speed index reading of 439 MB/s the EVO is however, within reach of the two speed leaders (Vector and 850 Pro). At a price point of $130 the Evo is around 30% cheaper making it the best value for money SSDs I have seen in 2014. Comparing the Evo and the Sandisk Ultra Plus shows that the Evo is the winner but the Sandisk may be a viable alternative thanks to its cache-free, and therefore more consistent performance during extended writes. [Aug '14 SSDrivePro]

Been a beast for me since I bought it with no hickups or performance issues whatsoever. Obviously it can't compete with M.2 NVMe performance but they're a different class of storage so they're not comparable.

I am still using this SSD even though not to have V-Nand memories, also better write performance. Finally it has a good price/quality rate.

I acquired this SSD in 2016, now in 2020 it still gives excellent performance, although it is no longer for sale.

Had installed one of these bad boys for my Father's Workstation PC. He loves the SSD to death! It makes the entire system snappy and responsive to every click, and application you run! He is very impressed by his new build altogether, but noticeably, with how the jump from a HDD to an SSD made such a difference in speed. A+ drive right here.

I got up to 4000MB/s, is this a bug or a result of RAPID?
