We really liked this drive when it was released back in Nov '11. It had great real world performance both with compressible and incompressible data and was powered by the Marvel 88S9174-BKK2 controller which had very few reported reliability issues. Back when the Performance Pro was released it was one of the fastest SSD's on the market and to this day is able to spar with the latest and greatest. With a real world speed index of 450.6 MB/s the Corsair currently lies just above the midway marker for real world performance and similarly for server orientated workloads the Performance Pro is just above average with its AS-SSD score of 892. These drives have been superseded by the Neutron series and the remaining available stock is significantly overpriced at 240 GBP. [Oct '12 SSDrivePro]

AS SSD Read/Write bench: 340/350...

Performance Pro Series SSDs tap into the power of the Marvell SATA 6 Gb/s controller for reliable performance across multiple platforms and PC configurations. With an impressive ATTO Max performance of up to 515MB/s Sequential Read and 440 MB/s Sequential Write, Performance Series Pro solid-state drives offer incredibly fast boot and application load times that will make you wonder why anybody still uses old-fashioned mechanical hard drives. This isn't just limited to files that can be compressed and decompressed on the fly — Performance Series Pro SSDs offer similar performance when reading and writing compressed and non-compressible data.

This was without a doubt the best consumer SATA drive available when it was released (based on reliability and incompressible data transfer speeds). The few faster drives used non standard interfaces. Dropped my rating due to the release of stronger and better priced competiton
