Vertex 450 256GB

The Vertex 450 is the third SSD OCZ have released in the last eighteen months. The 450 features an updated version of the now somewhat proven Indilinx Barefoot controller which was first seen in the Vector just over 9 Months ago. The core performance figures for the Vertex 450 are disappointingly weaker, albeit marginally, than both the Vector (by 16%) and the Vertex 4 (by 11%). The Vertex 450 is currently retailing for more than the Vertex 4 and roughly the same as the better performing Vector so the 450 cannot be recommended at this time. That said the 450 is still amongst the top ten SSDs currently on the market and will be well worth consideration when prices drop after retailers have had a chance to build up stock. ^{[Sep '13 SSDrivePro]}
