A By taking a combination of speed readings with a strong emphasis on deep queue depth (server) IO.
The AS-SSD Total Score is derived from various speed measurements taken by the AS-SSD benchmarking utility. The purpose of the score is to summarize the performance characteristics of an SSD. It is calculated as follows:

Total Score = SeqW*0.15 + SeqR*0.1 + 4kR*2 + 4kW + 4k64W + 4k64R*1.5
  • SeqR = Sequential read speed
  • 4kR = Random 4k read speed
  • 4k64R = Random 4k read speed (64 queue depth)
All speeds are measured in MBps.

The SSD Group Test average scores are as follows:
  • SeqR=488
  • SeqW=362
  • 4kR=25
  • 4kW=83
  • 4k64R=276
  • 4k64W=250
So the total score is weighted in the below proportions:
  • SeqR=5%
  • SeqW=6%
  • 4kR=6%
  • 4kW=9%
  • 4k64R=46%
  • 4k64W=28%
This indicates a very heavy bias on 64 deep queue depth performance. Drives that score well on this test will perform excellently when faced with IO heavy server workloads such as hosting database engines or participating in busy storage area networks.

The Best.
