This is yet another Sandforce 2881 based SSD from Kingston, this time coupled with newer 19nm Nand flash. In terms of performance the V300 is nothing we haven't seen before with other Sandforce based SSDs. A side-by-side comparison with the HyperX shows that the two drives have a near identical performance profile which is more than a little disappointing given that the V300 is 16 months newer. With a sequential write speed of just 280 MB/s the V300 lags the group leaders by 62%, an expected result for a Sandforce based drive. To conclude, Kingston aren't offering anything new with the V300, consequently there are far faster (and cheaper) drives available elsewhere including the excellent Samsung Evo which is the current group leader. [Jan '14 SSDrivePro]

Above average average bench

The Kingston SSDNow V300 240GB averaged 35.9% lower than the peak scores attained by the group leaders. This isn't a great result which indicates that there are much faster alternatives on the comparison list.

Notice the inconsistent results. Kingston initially released the V300 series with better performing synchronous NAND and then switched to asynchronous NAND without informing customers. You will most likely get the lesser quality components if you buy this now. Research this drive carefully before purchasing.—Sep '14

Excellent

For an SSD, it's just too slow. These are installed at my workplace, as part of a new system that sync's our workgroup files to each team member's computer. We used to run common files through a network drive, so it was a massive upgrade. But my boot time is still around 30 seconds, compared to 10 for better drives, and the read speed just seems slow compared to the competition.

scratching my head. this is a 240gb drive, my results say it has 446gb free space. Anyone know why this is?
