The Mushkin Chronos and Chronos Deluxe are both Sandforce 2881 based SSDs from Mushkin. The only difference between the two is their NAND Flash: Intel asynchronous 25Nm for the Chronos vs Toshiba 32Nm Toggle Mode for the Deluxe. The 32Nm Toggle NAND supports far higher write speeds as can be seen from this direct performance comparison of the two drives. Overall the Chronos Deluxe performs slightly above expectations for a Sandforce SF2281 drive, it has reasonable read speeds but still struggles when faced with writing incompressible data. With an effective (real world) speed of 347 MB/s the Chronos Deluxe lags the group leaders by 50% and as such there are far better drives, such as the Samsung Evo, available in today's market.
