For the money and difference in price of my next selection, the 860 EVO, The 970 is so vastly superior and thus a far better value for the dollar, IMO. It is definitely not a "budget build" item though, so for me, it is something of a splurge, but one I can count on to handle anything I give it. The WD version is very close and even better in a few areas and only just a few bucks less.
